CREDITON has a new neighbourhood police officer.

Police Constable Anastasia Earls, has taken the role at Crediton made vacant by the recent move of PC Keith Bradshaw to Exeter.

PC Earls, who is based at Crediton Police Station and has been a police officer for the past seven years, says she knows the area well, having most recently served across Mid Devon as a response officer.

Previously she had specialist roles in sexual offences and before that as an officer in Exeter.

PC Earls said she was looking forward to meeting people in the community.

She added: “My reason for the move to Crediton as a neighbourhood beat manager was to experience the neighbourhood element of policing.

“Neighbourhood policing is very different to my previous role as a response officer, it allows me to integrate with the local community and get to know what the local issues are and how the community are affected by those current situations.

“It also allows me to develop a relationship with a diverse community whom I would not normally get to spend much time with and in turn I anticipate this will provide me with valuable experience.”
