FIRE crew from Crediton and Danes Castle, Exeter, as well as a water bowser, also from Danes Castle, were all sent to a report of an out of control bonfire that had spread to a barn at Combe Lancey, Crediton on Tuesday, February 9.

On arrival crews confirmed that the bonfire had caught alight a corner of the roof on a small open wooden structure.

There was five per cent damage to the roof by fire and the fire was extinguished using one hose reel jet. 

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to the fire at 5.29pm.
