Organic veg team win top national award

DELIGHTED couple, Jo and Phil Limb, are toasting success this week having been named Riverford Franchisees of the Year 2016.

Jo and Phil left their careers in, respectively, legal marketing and insurance, in London and moved their family to Dartmoor to take over the Riverford franchise for North and West Devon at the beginning of 2015.

After less than 18 months and having fully embraced the Riverford model, the couple have seen their business flourish to become one of the top performing territories. They now deliver to over 750 households each week across the county.

There are 70 local Riverford vegetable teams up and down the country, all delivering award winning organic fruit, vegetables and meat to more than 47,000 customers through their iconic Vegboxes.

Every year at Riverford’s summer conference a team is recognised for their efforts in customer care, sales, business practice and brand building.

Jo said: “We are delighted to win the award, it’s a great honour to be selected and it makes all that hard work worthwhile.

"We have a great relationship with our “family” of Devon Riverford customers and it’s really important to us that we provide a personal level of customer care – it’s what really drives us.

"Knowing that those who have spent a lot of their lives building Riverford are happy with our work, is the icing on the cake!

"We believe passionately in organic farming and want others to also appreciate the benefits that this farming practice can bring, both to the environment and to their homes.

Phil added: “We couldn’t operate our business without the support and dedication of our small team of superb delivery drivers, one of whom, Emlyn Williams, was deservedly recognised for his outstanding customer care when he was awarded runner-up in the Riverford Driver of the Year awards in March this year.”
