IN celebration of the 80th anniversary of the national Citizens Advice service, Mary Rose and Ronald Somerville will open their beautiful garden at Rookwood, Coppice Lane, Sandford on Saturday, July 6.
Mary Rose has been an avid supporter of Citizens Advice for many years including a long-service as a trustee and remains a member of what is now know as Torridge, North, Mid and West Devon Citizens Advice.
She and Ronald have provided support to the charity predominantly in Mid Devon and now are extending their support by opening their garden to the public.
The gardens will be open from 2pm to 5pm and there is parking on-site.
Throughout the afternoon there will be teas and cakes to enjoy, a plant sale, children’s entertainment and music.
Citizens Advice will also be on-hand to discuss the work it does to raise awareness and much needed funds.
The charity has helped more than 2,500 people in the last year in Mid Devon alone, either over the telephone or face-to-face, dealing with just under 3,800 new issues, including £1m+ of financial gains to clients in Mid Devon.
This fundraising event will help it to continue its work, to recruit more volunteer advisors and help more people improve their lives.
