SANDFORD Heritage Group, in conjunction with St Swithun’s Church, is holding an event on Sunday, September 3 from 2pm to 5pm at Dowrich Mill (EX17 4EQ) when visitors will be able to see how grain is ground into flour by a water-powered mill.

Previous Mill open days have been very popular and it is hoped that this one will at least match, if not better, those before.

There will be cream teas, ice creams, a display of working and stationary engines, vintage cars and tractors.

Live music will feature a Jazz band and accordions.

There will also be a “Name that Cow” competition, children’s face painting, a grand raffle and lots more side shows.

All proceeds will go to St Swithun’s Church Roof Repair Fund.
