A CHEQUE for £327 was presented, by Jim Thatcher of Once Read Once Loved to Pippins Pre-school and Nursery in Crediton.

Jim explained: "We are in a position to support a local children’s cause.

"This could not be achieved without the amazing donations we receive from members of the community, throughout the year, of unwanted household items, collectables and books.

"It would appear with have become a bit if a social hub as well as a traditional bookshop and good platform to recycle those once cherished items.

"This time around we have again chosen Pippins Pre-school and Nursery who provide an amazing service caring for the young children of our town, whilst parents or guardians are working.

"Thank you again Crediton for your support."

Jim was presented with a "A story by the Children of Pippins" card as a thank you and the children were delighted to each receive a Mr Men book, courtesy of Once Read Once Loved.

Hazel Hodge, manager of Pippins Pre-school explained: "We are very grateful for the donation and decided to give the children the choice of what they wanted to spend it on.

"They decided that they would like some knights and dollies."
