ON A sunny September morning Hayward's School held the official opening of their new classrooms.

The two modular classrooms have replaced two temporary classrooms and were finished in time for the Summer term.

Readers may remember seeing photos in the Crediton Courier of the crane positioning them in place.

The classrooms were officially opened by the Chairman of Devon County Cllr Jerry Brook and the opening was attended by the Mayor of Crediton, Cllr Frank Letch, and Lady Mayoress, Natalia Letch, Devon County Cllr Nick Way, School Governors, members of the Hayward's Trust and Friends of Hayward's School.

Refreshments were served including a delicious cake incorporating the Hayward's logo made by Olivers bakery.

Guests were entertained with singing by Miss Venning's class and were impressed by their Olympic banner designed and quilted by the children from Reception and Years 5 and 6 under the supervision of Sue Dishman.

Hayward's School is delighted with the new classrooms, which provides room for expansion and are light, airy to provide an excellent learning culture space for the pupils.
