CREDITON Area Children's Centre supports families with children under five in Crediton and its surrounding villages. The centre is government-funded and is managed by Barnardo's on behalf of Devon County Council.

To celebrate the official opening of the Crediton Area Children's Centre there will be an open day on Saturday, September 26.

Families with children under five are invited to attend between 10am and 1pm. Why not attend and sample the range of toys and books, meet Professor Fumble the magician and enjoy the barbecue?

The cutting of the ribbon (by a local dignitary) to declare the centre open will take place at 11am

The newly-built centre is situated in Newcombes, Crediton and is staffed by a team of project workers, play workers and admin staff.

Also housed in the new building are the Crediton Health Visiting team and the local School Nursing team.

Parents and carers and their children are free to drop in any time during the opening hours of 9am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday, to attend play or support sessions or for help and advice from the qualified staff.

The children's centre staff also run or support various play sessions in Crediton and the local area. Families are invited to become a member of Crediton Area Children's Centre and will receive a regular newsletter giving information on all the centre's activities.
