THE North Creedy Choral Society’s Christmas Concert will include a new Advent Cantata.

This will be the first performance of the work with words by a local author James Muirden, set to music by the Society’s conductor, Richard Stephens.

The concert will include music by Palestrina, Mendelssohn and Purcell. There will also be seasonal carols.

The concert will take place at Holy Cross Church, Crediton, during the Christmas Tree Festival on Saturday, December 7.

The Society’s Spring Concert will take place on Saturday, April 25 and will consist of two popular works, Fauré’s “Requiem Mass” and Vivaldi’s “Gloria”.

The Society extends an invitation to singers of all ages and voices to join them.

It meets at Crediton Methodist Church on Mondays at 7.30pm. There is no audition, just turn up on any Monday. There is a termly subscription of £50.
