FOLLOWING the closure of their village shop in December 2016, Cheriton Fitzpaine residents especially missed their daily newspapers.

Fortunately, as part of the Community Shop Group initiative, Barbara Draper and Ellie Babbedge organised the ordering and distributing of newspapers, using the barn at the Cider Barn of the Ring of Bells, by kind permission of Binka and Dave.

This worked well, but was a bit cold and small to encourage people to stay and chat. The Methodist Church has now come to the rescue and people are now able to collect their newspapers from the schoolroom, where they can also stop for a coffee and a chat if they wish, in a warm environment.
