CREDITON Town Council is investigating ideas for the renovation of the toilet block at Newcombes Meadow.

The front cubicle, previously a disabled toilet operated by a radar key, is now open to all from 9am to 4pm, seven days-a-week. The Turning Tides Project CIC has been employed to clean this toilet twice-a-day, alongside doing a wide range of other jobs on behalf of the Town Council.

The building, which came into the Town Council’s ownership in 2018, currently remains closed as the town council says that the toilets are "not fit for purpose".

The council says that investigation work relating to a full renovation is commencing, alongside other ideas for Newcombes Meadow, which involve the use of funds available from Mid Devon District Council for the benefit of the community.

Mayor of Crediton Cllr Letch, said: "Toilets in Newcombes Meadow are a well-used asset, particularly in summer by parents of young children.

"That is why the Town Council is making a special effort to get the toilets open for all members of the public."

The Town Council will be undertaking community consultation on projects as ideas progress.
