COLOURFUL new artwork, designed by Exeter College student Jasmine Liu, has been launched at Copplestone Railway Station on the scenic Tarka Line.

Jasmine was inspired by the station itself, the local history and the famous otter the line takes its name from.

The striking new direction of travel board was installed during the recent line closure when Network Rail replaced a number of areas of track between Barnstaple and Crediton which will see smoother and more comfortable journeys for passengers.

A partnership between Great Western Railway, Network Rail, the Devon and Cornwall Rail Partnership and local users’ group, the Tarka Rail Association, organised a range of initiatives around the engineering work including the artwork, refurbishing the waiting room at Yeoford station, gardening at Barnstaple and other stations and, to follow in the Spring, a heritage display in one of the waiting rooms at Crediton station.
