A NEW initiative #Inclusivecrediton has been launched as a collaboration between Mid Devon Leisure, Active Devon, The Turning Tides Project, Living Options and Upstream as a result of an Inclusive Open Day held in March.
The Inclusive Multi- Sports Club will run on Saturdays from 2pm to 4pm at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre from tomorrow, June 13.
A range of activities will be available - all supported and inclusive - for the bargain cost of £2.50 per session.
The central activity will rotate on an eight weekly basis - for the first eight weeks it will be Taiko Drumming, which was very popular at the open day.
Jane Williams of the Turning Tides Project explained: "We would love to get as much community involvement as we can in this project. Our aim is to provide opportunities that are accessible to all and to use this inclusion as a way of increasing the profile of disabled people in this community and also developing the community's confidence and ability to include."
She added: "On a personal note, I'm really proud of #Inclusivecrediton and the very positive collaboration that the organisations involved have created.
"I think it's a really important piece of work for our community to hear about."
