A NEW Ranger Unit has opened in Crediton for girls aged 13-plus.
Rangers are members of Girlguiding and part of the Senior Section, which is all about friends and fun, where the girls are challenged to try new activities, plan and organise their own programme and make decisions about the way the group runs.
So far this term they have had a food tasting session, played racquet ball and they are now busy planning a bonfire for one of the Brownie groups, and their Christmas tree for the Christmas Tree Festival at the Parish Church.
Next year, 2016, is the centenary of Rangers and the Crediton unit is hoping to join in the celebrations with opportunities to go camping and even travel abroad.
Crediton Rangers meet fortnightly on a Monday evening from 7.30pm to 9pm at the Guide Hut, Lords Meadow.
New members are always welcome and if you would like more information please email Jude at: [email protected] .
