THE story appeared in the Courier on Friday, September 5 Issue 997. Crediton Town Council hopes to set up a new Neighbourhood Plan, which will give the people of the town a chance to have their say on how the town will develop. The plan will focus on a number of areas including traffic and transport, maintaining the viability of the town centre, the building of new homes, protecting green spaces and social provision for young people. Everyone is invited to a drop-in event about Crediton Neighbourhood Plan on Thursday, September 25, at the Council Chamber, Market Street Crediton, between 10am and 7pm. The Steering Group, who will be setting up the plan, will explain the process and how residents can contribute. People will be given the opportunity to ask questions, give views and talk about key issues. Do you think the Neighbourhood Plan is a good idea? Let me know what you think. You can contact me at 102 High Street, Crediton or email: [email protected]">[email protected]. Readers are also invited to take part in the poll on the Courier website: http://www.creditoncouriernewspaper.co.uk">www.creditoncouriernewspaper.co.uk.
What you told us ..........
I am personally disappointed that there will be no ring road, although it has been in the pipeline for 50 years. I don't see what difference the new road will make. Parking in town is still a problem and is not helping to keep the shops open. I think the Neighbourhood Plan is a good idea. Fred Saunders, Posbury
It's the same old thing – the parking issue. Will a Neighbourhood Plan make any difference? Does it really come down to what people think? I do, however, like shopping in Crediton there are some good shops and they bring people into the town. Crediton Resident
The Council should represent the people who elected them, but it sometimes seems that they do what they want. People's opinions should be considered before things are done. I think that most people would feel this way. It's democracy. People have differing opinions and decisions should be made on the opinions of the majority. Sally Wilson, Crediton
