I REPORTED a deep pothole in Bow High Street to the police non-emergency 101 service and to Devon Highways on August 24 because I felt it was a deathtrap, particularly in the dark.
The operator at 101 didn’t think it was really big enough to send somebody out to repair it and I was asked to take a ruler out and measure the depth of the pothole!
I then informed 101 that it was one foot deep and could hold approximately five gallons of water!
In the meantime another resident decided to float a plastic duck in the water-filled pothole.
Devon Highways came out and semi-repaired the pothole on August 30, but a water leak then appeared at the same spot.
