MEMBERS of the Crediton and Area branch of Devon Senior Voice (DSV) were given a talk at their February meeting by former social worker, Angela Radford, who is co-ordinator of the Neighbourhood Friends service that now operates in this area.

Angela, who has an office in The Manse at Crediton Congregational Church, explained how Neighbourhood Friends is managed by Westbank in Exeter and aims to fill gaps in statutory provision, especially for people who are discharged from hospital.

Chair, Carole Towler, thanked Angela for her informative talk.

A reminder was given to fill in and return nomination forms for the AGM on April 13 and there was an invitation to any member who would like to become a committee member, as there are two vacancies.

The meeting on Wednesday, March 9 will include a talk by local solicitor Lesley Austin, who is an “Older Person Champion” which means she is qualified to give financial advice specifically to older people.

All are welcome and light refreshments will be available.
