THERE was a good turnout for this year’s Music in the Garden which took place on Sunday, July 29 at Winswood House, Crediton, the home of Stella and Richard Stephens.
Visitors enjoyed a cream tea and an afternoon of music in the beautiful gardens.
The majority of the performers were from Crediton Parish Church and included members from the choir and also from the congregation and clergy.
There were a variety of musical items including classical pieces and items from popular shows as well as a reading from John Betjeman: A Town Clerks View.
Joan and John Musty gave a taster for the North Creedy Choral Society’s Christmas Tree Concert (December 8) by singing the Benedictus from The Armed Man.
Despite the fact that this was the only wet and windy day for many weeks more than 80 people attended and enjoyed the entertainment and the cream teas which were served to them by the local Hospiscare fundraising team.
The event raised £809.10 which has been shared between Crediton Parish Church Music Endowment Fund and Hospiscare.
Crediton Friends of Hospiscare are extremely grateful to Richard and Stella Stephens for hosting this event.
