A TOTAL of 37 children from Morchard Bishop CE (VA) recently took part in the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) exams held at the school.
The vast majority of children passed with a distinction, which is a credit to the school’s class 4 teacher, Ms S Oliver.
The pieces the children performed ranged from a devised mime scene in a pet shop, a drama piece based on “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” called “Lucy and the Caramel Factory” to musical theatre with pieces from “Mamma Mia” and “The Greatest Showman”.
Other children performed and talked about poems such as “A Boy and His Dog” or learnt and recited prose.
Head Teacher Chris Sergeant said that taking part provided the children with a great introduction into the Dramatic Arts as well as building up their confidence and sense of achievement.
He added that the club has been running since 2013 with more than 500 exam successes.
