ARE you good at solving mysteries? If so, then you will love to attend an event which will take place at Crediton Library.
The Library will present “The Case of the Murdered Manager”, in association with the Moonstone Theatre Company, from 7pm to 10pm on Friday, October 6.
Those who attend the evening will be invited to help solve a classic murder mystery set in 1933.
The plot contains clues and, of course, red herrings, but there is always the opportunity for keen sleuths to identify the culprit.
The Manager of the Municipal and City Bank in Exeter, Mr Douglas Treadwell, was heading home a little later than usual after a busy day at the office, when he was set upon in the streets near Exeter Cathedral.
His briefcase was taken, and he was left by the side of road with fatal injuries.
Was his death simply an opportunist street theft that had gone wrong? Was there something in the briefcase that the thief was after? Was he silenced because of something he knew or had discovered? Were there family secrets that had caught up with him?
The Investigator in charge of the case has begun their work which has led them to four key suspects.
The Investigator has arranged for the four suspects to attend Crediton Library, and she is calling on the other guests present to help with her investigation. All the clues will be there to identify the culprit, but will they be correctly deduced?
Sue Lee, Library Supervisor, says: “We are excited to be working with Moonstone Theatre Company.
“They deliver Murder Mystery evenings full of fun and intrigue. We of course will be trying to identify the culprit ourselves.
“Many thanks to Mid Devon District Council for its Vibrant Town Centres funding to support the Mid Devon Libraries Arts and Cultural Programme. This enables us to offer tickets at only £3 per person for this enthralling event.”
