• 8.30pm UPDATE: A section of the A3072 will be closed temporarily to allow clean up of an oil spillage. This is likely to be closed for 60-90 minutes as our contractors carry out their work. There will be operatives at either end if assistance is required.

DEVON County Council issued a warning to motorists, users of the A3072, at 6pm today, Wednesday, September 30.

The council said: “There is an oil spill (approximately two miles long) on the A3072 between Jacobstowe and Sampford Courtenay.

“Specialist clean-up crews are on their way, but in the meantime please drive carefully along this stretch of road, especially in darker conditions.”
