The one-metre tall poppy was made by retired Sergeant Major Andy Burrows who sold the sculpture to raise funds for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
Andy, who left Crediton in 1993 to join the Army returned to the town last year and set up his own business, AB Tiling, where he works as a professional tiler.
The poppy Andy made is set on 20mm thick marble and is covered in mosaic tiles.
South West Galvanisers kindly made the base for free and the tiles were donated by Topps Tiles of Exeter.
Andrew Wreford of LeRoy Funerals said: “LeRoy Funerals has a long history of supporting the Royal British Legion.
“Each year the Crediton office acts as the local collection point for the Poppy Appeal wreaths and boxes and we are happy to provide this service.
“Thanks to Steve Rowe and his staff at S P Rowe, building contractors, we also display large poppies on the front of our premises at Crediton and at our Topsham Road and Alphington branches in Exeter.
“We were pleased to purchase the poppy which we will now display in our Crediton office each November and we were also pleased to make the donation directly to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.”
