THE calf project at Landscore Primary School, Crediton has now been completed.

The project was a collaboration between the school, Upstream, the charity Artswave and retired farmers from the Crediton area.

The exciting intergenerational project took place in November and focused on Crediton’s farming history.

Retired local farmers worked with Landscore pupils to create a mosaic sculpture of a calf to represent the Devon Red Ruby cattle, which were sold at the April Great Market in Crediton High Street, until the late 50s.

The farmers shared their experience with children and reflected upon how farming has changed.

The mosaic calf, which is currently in the foyer at the school will form part of a sculpture trail in Crediton.
