STAFF at Morrisons, Crediton wore yellow, for a day, in support of the local charity Hospiscare.
Hospiscare nurses are based in in towns across the south west and visit people in their homes or in hospital providing care and support for those that need it.
The Sunshine Launch on Wednesday May 19 marked the start of a 10 month campaign, to raise as much money as possible to fund Hospisce services in the local community.
As part of a national campaign, Morrisons have named "Help the Hospices" as their charity of the year.
The launch was marked in Crediton when a member of staff dropped the first coin into one of the yellow buckets situated at the checkouts.
Personnel manager, Jane Ovenden explained: "There were be a range of yellow themed activities, one of which was to guess the number of yellow sweets in a jar and a raffle to win a cake."
Hospiscare spokesman, Teresa Driscoll said: "We are thrilled that the local Morrisons' staff are supporting us."
Mike Palfreman, director of fundraising at Help the Hospices said: "we are delighted to be chosen as Morrisons charity of the year and we look forward to making the £1million pound target a reality - Hospiscare need to raise over £4 million this year."
