CREDITON Parish Church Christmas Tree Festival was again a huge success welcoming more than 4,000 visitors between Thursday, December 1 and Sunday, December 4.

During the festival 75 decorated and illuminated Christmas trees filled the church creating an amazing atmospheric display.

The festival visitors voted Hospiscare the favourite adult tree and the 4th Crediton Brownies the favourite children’s tree.

Despite the chilly weather a number of hardy visitors took the opportunity to visit the Governors Room and the bell tower.

Concerts by the North Creedy Choral Society and the Parish Church Choir were well received and attended. Both were of a seasonal nature with considerable audience participation.

Many inspiring comments were received about the Festival:

“Really uplifting and an inspiration to everyone,”

“Lovely just right to get into the Christmas spirit,”

“What a fabulous Festival. Never stop.”

The Governors of the Parish Church and the festival organisers would like to thank all those who helped in any way to make the festival such a successful and warmly received event and especially all those businesses, charities, groups, individuals, organisations and schools who decorated all the trees to such a high standard.

Next year’s Christmas Tree Festival will take place from Thursday, December 7 to Sunday, December 10.

Anyone wishing to reserve a tree for the 2017 festival should contact the festival co-ordinator, Stella Ahier, as soon as possible at: [email protected] .

Reservations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis and the organisers expect demand to exceed the number of trees it is possible to place safely around the church.
