Mrs Gwen May, second left, holds the rosette won by Waddeton Hilda, breed champion South Devon with her daughter, Mrs Anne Tully, wife of the breeder Gordon Tully. Mrs May and her late husband, Bill, were Devon breeders and Bill was one of those who began the show, was on the original committee and much connected with this show for years. Waddeton Hilda is nine-years-old, had eight calves including two sets of twins and was champion at Yealmpton the previous week. SR 9736
