TO celebrate National Dementia Week Crediton Dementia Action Alliance opened a "pop up" shop in the Pannier Market.

The shop, which is owned by Mike Sanders, was donated for the week and sponsored by The Rotary Club of Crediton.

The shop was open all week and was manned by members of the town’s dementia alliance.

A host of information was available from lots of different organisations to support people suffering from dementia, and their families and carers.

Volunteers from a number of local voluntary groups attended, including Age Concern, Neighbourhood Friends and The Filo Project. A local Alzheimers support worker also attended.

Crediton Dementia Action Alliance would like to start a social group for carers of people living with dementia and see the groups as an opportunity for carers to get together and share their experiences and challenges.

The idea is that the group will evolve into whatever the carers would like it to be.
