SIXTH Formers at Queen Elizabeth’s School in Crediton rose to the challenge of preparing for the wider world of work recently, undertaking a series of formal mock interviews for a range of real-life jobs.

Students submitted CVs and application forms, before being interviewed by panels of volunteers from the Rotary Club of Crediton, all of whom brought years of experience in local business, education and industry to bear on creating challenging and authentic interview situations.

Students were then invited back for feedback on their performance.

The students said afterwards: “We picked up loads of tips on how to write a CV and manage an interview”, adding: “It was a bit scary at first, but actually it’s given me tons of confidence in the end.”

Thanks was extended to the team from the Rotary Club of Crediton for sharing their expertise with the students.
