MARK your diary for a wonderful day out at the Mid Devon Show at the stunning site at Knightshayes/Chettiscombe, near Tiverton on Saturday, July 23. There promises to be something for everyone.

The Show has a new organiser this year.

Carolyn Branton has left after 20 years with the Show and Jacqueline Stamp has taken over the reins.

Jacqueline said: “It has been an amazing, frantic but thoroughly enjoyable few months.

"With great support from the army of dedicated volunteers, we are all geared up for another fantastic show and I look forward to welcoming visitors old and new to this year’s Show.”

Among the attractions will be the Pony Club games, a parade of hounds, a climbing wall, slacklining, bouncy castles, a funfair, donkey and pony rides, heavy horses, Cyril the Squirrel and his Terrier Racing Team, Kryton Archers and the Fire Brigade.

The Countryside Arena has huskies, hawks, ferrets, owls and so much more!

The Music and Dance Pavilion runs from 10am with live music and dancing performances, including "Wyndham Male Singers", Clare Lash Williams - a soprano, "Stay Lucky", "Barracuda" and "Byzantium Lane Ozzy D" and "Kalash Tribal".

The theme for this year is “Firmly rooted in Farming”.

There will be wonderful working demonstrations of farming equipment, and many static displays of farm machinery and vintage tractors will be on show.

The livestock section is full of top quality animals: cattle, sheep and pigs of all breeds, from farmers and exhibitors near and far. Go along and see these magnificent animals in all their glory – show ready and looking stunning.

There will also be a grand parade of livestock and prize giving.

Demonstrations and static displays continue throughout the day.

There will be pygmy goats, guinea pigs and poultry, and don’t forget all the trade and craft stands where visitors can browse and “shop until you drop”!

Main ring entertainment will include Jamie Squibb – motorcycle stunt rider - taking star place.

There will also be heavy horses and driving classes, which are a sight to behold.

If you are feeling adventurous you can even have-a-go at scaling the climbing wall or why not try slacklining?!

Nominated Show charity this year is Devon Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs.

The Show will provide action-packed entertainment from 9am to 5.30pm
