Mid Devon's motorists will have three road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But drivers will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• M5, from 9am July 18 2022 to 11.59pm August 29 2027, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5, junction 28 to 29 hard shoulder closure in both directions for parapet works.

And a further two closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A30, from 8pm October 31 to 4am November 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 westbound, Whiddon Down lane closure for barrier repairs.

• M5, from 7.30am November 6 to 5.30pm November 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 28 to junction 27 - hard shoulder only for horticulture (cutting and planting).

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
