MID Devon District Council’s State of the District Debate will be held on Wednesday, May 25, in Phoenix House, Tiverton at 6.30pm.
The debate will focus on the pros and cons of rural funding as against urban funding.
Leading the debate for the rural side will be Graham Biggs, the Chief Executive of the Rural Services Network and SPARSE, a leading lobbyist for the rural economy, highly recognised in government circles. Its main aim is to secure a better deal for rural authorities such as Mid Devon.
To lead the debate for the urban side will be Giles Perritt, Assistant Chief Executive of Plymouth City Council.
With its place in the heart of urban Devon, and having the largest naval base in Western Europe, Plymouth has led the way in attracting growth funding from central government for a range of development projects.
All are welcome to attend what will hopefully be a lively and interesting debate.
