FOLLOWING an overhaul of its Strategic Grant programme, Mid Devon District Council is inviting applications from community organisations to deliver welfare advice and information, community transport services and support for community organisations.

A three-year grant linked to a service level agreement is available in each of these three service areas.

Applicants may be made by an individual not-for-profit organisation or in partnership with other organisations for all or part of a service area.

Councillor Colin Slade, MDDC’s Cabinet Member for Community Well-being, commented: “The Strategic Grant scheme has been restricted to the same group of organisations over the last few years.

“All the organisations we fund do a great job, but the council wants to give an opportunity for other organisations to apply to deliver services it considers essential to Mid Devon.

“As local authority funding becomes more constrained, it’s crucial the council’s grant programmes deliver the best value for money to taxpayers.”

The new Service Level Agreement Grant Programme is open to applications until 5pm on Monday, February 6 2017.
