THE residents of Copplestone have clubbed together to have a commemorative hand-made oak bench, made by Philip Wright, to celebrate the life of Brian Glover, for his life of working for the village, where he lived all of his life.

Brian, who died last July, and his wife Tris, ran the Christmas shoe box appeal for more than 20 years and every year took a working party to carry out work at the Burzitsa Children’s Orphanage, in Bulgaria.

A dedication of the bench will take place on Sunday, June 11 at 4pm at the Recreation Field in Copplestone.

Anyone who knew Brian, who worked with him, or went on those trips to Bulgaria, is welcome to attend.

If it is a nice day those who go are invited to take a picnic along and make it a celebration to Brian.
