A CREDITON firefighter has received a Fire Brigade Long Service and Good Conduct Medal.

Crediton Crew Manager Mark Ludgate, received his award from Lord Lieutenant for Somerset, Lady Gass JP, at a ceremony held at Somerset County Cricket Ground, Taunton.

Mark joined the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service in 1992 as a firefighter serving at Crediton.

He was promoted to Crew Manager in 2002 and continues to serve at Crediton.
