MORE than 30 shopkeepers and businesses in Crediton will be giving everyone the ultimate Christmas shopping experience on Friday, December 7. A late night shopping evening, organised with the support of nearly all the town's shops and other businesses, the Chamber of Commerce and the Crediton Courier will take place until 8pm. Many shops will be providing drinks and nibbles and both Crediton Town Band and Mellow D Singers will be entertaining at various locations along the High Street and other areas of the town. It is also hoped there will be other entertainment. Santa will make an appearance in Evans newsagents and pubs and restaurants will also be open. Visitors who attend to enjoy the late night shopping experience may also like to pop along to Crediton Parish Church where, until 6pm, the Christmas Tree Festival will be taking place. Make a note of the date in your diary, Friday, December 7, to go along to enjoy Crediton's late night shopping evening. You will be able to browse for Christmas gifts after work and help support the town's shops and the local economy by shopping locally. The lights for the Town Square's Christmas tree will be switched on by local musician Maz Totterdell, Town Mayor, Cllr Frank Letch and special guest, Father Christmas at 6pm on the same evening. Decorations for the tree were made by pupils from Hayward's Primary School.
