RESIDENTS of a Crediton road have been left baffled after Devon County Council contractors painted road markings in the wrong location.

The words “KEEP CLEAR” have been painted at the Waresfoot Drive junction with People’s Park Road in Crediton, at the wrong end of the cul-de-sac!
There are two very worn “KEEP CLEAR” road markings at the bottom of Waresfoot Drive which have been in a desperate need of repainting for some time.

The Mid Devon District Council refuse and recycling lorries usually reverses the entire length of Waresfoot Drive as the turning circle at the bottom of the road where the road markings should be are often covered in parked vehicles.
A road sign at the location reads “NO PARKING Turning Area Only”.

A car is regularly parked on a grass verge at the bottom of Waresfoot Drive.
Local residents have spoken with Cllr Jim Cairney, the Devon County Councillor for Crediton and Crediton Mid Devon District Councillor Guy Cochran, and asked that they report the incorrect road markings at the road junction to the County Highways department.

Local residents hope that the gaffe can be resolved with the removal of the newly painted road sign at the top of Waresfoot Drive and the correct road markings being installed at the bottom of the road.
