AFTER two months of covering for the Community Champion at the Crediton Morrisons store, Hazel Evely has now handed the role to the new Community Champion, Mandy Fosbrooke.

Mandy said: “We have been supporting lots of charities and groups including Crediton Scouts and Beavers, Crediton Area History and Museum Society, Crediton NHS, primary schools including Hayward’s, Landscore and Morchard Bishop, Crediton Foodbank and Crediton Community Larder.

“Our charity for the next couple of years is ‘Together for Short Lives’ which includes Children’s Hospice South West at Little Bridge House, Fremington, the Calvert Trust, Exmoor and the Community Children’s Palliative Care team in Exeter.

“We are currently growing our online community. Please visit our Morrisons Crediton Community Champion Facebook page and send a friend request.”

Mandy added: “Morrisons customers are outstanding when it comes to buying bags of food from the ‘pick-up and pay scheme’ to support Crediton Foodbank and we have lots going on with the Foodbank.

“We are also continuing with a ‘Package for Sandy’ for customers who need to get a discreet package of sanitary protection products.

“We have also linked up with the South Devon Hedgehog Charity and the dog charity Many Tears Rescue.

“There is some fantastic fundraising going on in our community.

“We received £1,412.23 in customer donations last month.

“We are also supporting Ukraine with the sale of Ukraine’s best loved beer and food for the Ukraine via the CR3EE appeal.

“I’m here to support the community and want to say a massive ‘thank you’ to everyone who makes it all possible.”

Funding opportunities are still available at the Crediton Store and local charities are invited to apply by contacting Mandy at the Crediton store.
