LOTS of luscious cakes were on sale, including gluten free, plus a chance to sample some extremely interesting gins, vodka, rum all made locally as well as browsing paintings, greetings cards, scarves among the stalls in The Duck at Yeoford.

The coffee morning on Friday, September 24, raised £383 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The organisers, Sarah Parkinson The Duck landlady and Mandy Vellacott, a Temple Spa holistic and beauty therapist who lives in Yeoford, thank everyone who helped raise this amount. They were delighted. Temple Spa supports Macmillan as a company.

All the cakes and buns had been donated. Among the stallholders with Mandy was Pam Cox, artist from Morchard Bishop with a number of prints and greetings cards.

Tasha Wheeler-James was offering tastings of their own spirits and preserves made using mostly ingredients grown on their farm at Crockernwell. Tasha’s husband, Colin, is a chef who runs their cookery school at their home, Higher Fingle Farm, Crockernwell.

Among other courses, they run professional chef training, day courses, fermentation, foraging, Christmas pudding workshop, or one that includes children.
