Crediton And District Playscheme Association for Children with Special Needs would like to thank everyone who attended and supported their Valentine Charity Dance at Sandford Parish Hall.

The live band, the Lurv Handles got everyone up and dancing at, what turned out to be, a very enjoyable 70's NIght, with Celeste Peachy on vocals, Mike Langhorne on guitar, Chris Herbert on bass guitar and Rich Tuckett on drums.

Crediton Playscheme extended their thanks to everyone who helped, with a special thank you to Maurice and Ashley from the Three Little Pigs for their support and generosity.

Thanks also went to Simon Lee of A E Lee's Outfitters and Sandford Post Office for selling tickets and to Jo and Phil Ward for the lighting. A huge thank you went to the Lurv Handles for supporting the Playscheme once again.

In total the 70's night raised £1,900, which will go towards trips for the children.

Chairman of Crediton and District Playscheme, Julie Rice explained: "We are currently organising a residential weekend to an activity centre on Dartmoor where the children can take part in activities including horse riding, abseiling and canoeing with qualified instructors.

"The children gain so much from their experiences and are able to try things that other children might take for granted."

She added: "The time away from home gives them independence and also gives their families a rest!

"Seeing the children's faces makes it all worthwhile."

Anyone who would like to become a volunteer or join the committee can call Julie on 01363 776381.
