A NUMBER of community organisations from the Crediton area are among Devon community organisations celebrating this month after being awarded almost £2million in National Lottery funding in the latest round of awards to projects.

In total, 78 community projects in Devon are receiving a share.

Yeoford Community Primary School and Tedburn St Mary School each receive funding to build an outdoor classroom.

Tedburn St Mary School has been awarded £10,000 and the funding will be used to complete the building of the outdoor classroom which can also be used as a community space for events and activities.?Yeoford Community Primary School has been awarded £9,850 to build an outdoor classroom that will facilitate learning and can be used by the wider community.

Two local village halls received money for improvements.

Poughill Village Hall Trust receives £1,400 to replace windows to make the hall more comfortable for users and address potential safety issue.

Dolton and Dowland Village Hall receives £10,000 towards the refurbishment of the toilets in the hall.

Community radio station Tiverton Community Radio receives £10,000 to help it provide a permanent community radio station for local listeners in a rural area to build local relationships and bring people together.
