THE Quicke family at Newton St Cyres threw open the gates at Home Farm in Newton St Cyres for LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming) Open Farm Sunday on June 10.

The Home Farm line-up included an outdoor children’s play area, cheese making tours, farm tours and a chance to stock up on clothbound cheese and other local produce at the Quicke’s Farm Shop.

Visitors were given the opportunity to learn about everything from grass and grazing to cheddaring and grading.

The event offered a rare insight into life on a farm that has been nurtured by the same family for 14 generations.

LEAF Open Farm Sunday is the farming industry’s national open day.
