DESPITE the heavy rain during the week, there were more Crediton Youth Football Club fixtures than expected at the weekend.

The U12s switched their cup game against Okehampton to the artificial pitch at Ashbury.

They made their way through to the last 16 with a 4-1 victory.

Despite controlling the first half it was one each at the break.

But they took their chances in the second half to proceed to the next round with goals from Hayden Richardson Miller, Josh Poole, Luis Matthews and Will Matten.

It took a late pitch inspection for the U11s home fixture against Heavitree Wolves to finally go ahead.

They had to come from 2-1 at the break to eventually run out 4-2 winners and progress to the next round of the plate competition.

Their goals came from Daniel Southall (2), Jayden Saunders and Rylan Baker.

The U10 Rangers had a tough draw against Brixington Blues and put in a great performance but the visitors eventually proved too strong for them.

It was heartbreak as well for United, who lost out by the only goal in their cup tie to Heavitree Hawks in the dying seconds of the game.

It was also a cup day for the U12 girls on Sunday, as they travelled to Ottery St Mary.

Doubles from Gracie Pugsley and Lexi Mullen and a Gracie Clements goal saw them come away with a 5-0 victory.

The girls now face Exmouth United in the quarter finals.

The U10 girls returned to action taking on sides from Paignton Villa and Torquay United Community Sports. It was three wins and one defeat for them.

Amongst their goal scorers were Alexi Fricker, Amelia May, Emily Walshe, Merryn Eatherley, Millie Brystal Frolich and Sophie Trenaman.
