A SENSE of belonging within a community is such an important part of life for all of us and at Crediton Congregational Church we have been looking for new and creative ways to keep our community connected during this time of lockdown.

We’re reaching out and supporting people in lots of ways; as well as running our Sunday services on Zoom and sending out resources for our children and young people each week.

Here is a summary of just three of the other things that have been going on:

The weekly bake-off competition was one of the first ideas to be launched and we’re now in Week Eight!

We set a theme each week and then people send in photos of their entries throughout that week and a winner is chosen by a different guest judge each time.

Sadly, although it would be lovely to taste all the entries they can only be judged on appearance!

Previous themes have included Animal Week, Biscuit Week, Rainbow Week and a particularly popular one, Chocolate Week.

The photography competition has also been running for several weeks in a similar format to the bake-off competition.

Previous themes have included “For the beauty of the Earth”, “It’s a small world”, “Thankful” and “There’s no place like home”.

Our online quizzes have also been popular events and have provided another great way to have fun together and enjoy being a community together, even while we can’t physically meet together.

Feel free to take a look at our Facebook page and more information about Crediton Congregational Church and all that we’re doing can be found on our website: www.creditoncongregational.org .

The recordings of our Sunday services can also be found on the website.
