A GROUP of local cyclists will be taking part in a 100k, overnight, charity cycle ride "Ride the Night Challenge" on May 28, through the centre of London!
The group of eight cyclists will be having a "one off" fundraising cycling event at the Beer Engine, Newton St Cyres, on Good Friday, (March 25), from 1.30pm to 8pm.
The team includes Veronica Ayre (Shobrooke), Sue Taylor (Half Moon), Penny Daw (Shobrooke), Barbara Horsman (Upton Pyne), Fiona Sara, (Shobrooke) and, Natalie Paterson (Upton Hellions), and two ex-Sandford ladies, Carol McLaughlin and Nicola Dockins who now live in Trowbridge and Barnstaple respectively. Also taking part is Jane Brimacombe from Yeoford.
Go along and support the cyclists and have a £1 sweepstake.
Guess at how many miles the team will collectively cycle on a static bike, during the fundraising event. At 8pm, the nearest guess will win a voucher, kindly donated by Will and Victoria at The Beer Engine.
Watch, encourage, support and laugh with the team, who will be in their pink tutus, as they pedal away, raising money for three amazing, worthwhile women’s charities:
Breast Cancer Care, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action.
All the team have Just Giving pages, but at the pub we will also have sponsorship forms and collecting buckets.
Each cyclist needs to raise at least £199 for the charity, which must be paid in by the end of April. What they collect on sponsorship forms and cash will be divided amongst the respective Just Giving accounts to make sure they all have the required amount, and hopefully more.
