PLEASE could I through your paper urge all residents of Crediton to work together to save our lovely town from being spoilt by litter.
I regularly walk my dog through the town and feel that the problem is getting worse.
I always pick up a handful of "the usual suspects", that is, drink cans, crisp packets and sweet wrappers but just lately I have felt defeated by the amount.
May I suggest three things that may help?
1) More litter bins, especially sited by benches and bus stops.
2) Everyone do their bit and pick up recently discarded and clean rubbish.
3) And of course, most importantly, don't drop litter in the first place!
I wonder whether children are being taught not to be litter-bugs these days and I suppose if parents are not doing it, then hopefully, the schools are instilling proper behaviour in their charges (not that it is the school's job to bring up our children).
So, fellow Crediton residents, lets do all we can to "Keep Crediton Tidy!"
