LIONS ROAR21 is an inspirational UK wide education programme, run for Lions in local primary schools by award winning education company 8billionideas with the motto “Change the world! Think Big, Dream Big”.

ROAR21 is an in-school competition which aims to inspire children to think big and dream big, encouraging them to develop an idea that could change the world.

Roar21 is being run in partnership with 8billionideas, the award-winning education company, on a not-for-profit basis.

It has been trialled in several other areas in England during the last few years and it has now been accepted by Lions for support as a national programme for young people.

ROAR21 is teacher-friendly with fully prepared lesson plans. It covers a number of different areas of the required school curriculum, including literacy, maths, science, DT, citizenship and PHSE.

Crediton Lions have funds to sponsor up to three schools in the area although others may join ROAR21 as well subject to funding arrangements which are not prohibitive.

Lion’s Eric Parkes and Ann Whitehouse are leading ROAR21 and will be contacting schools in the coming days.

If any Heads of primary schools in the Crediton and district area would like to learn more about the possibilities of ROAR21 in your school please contact in the first instance Ann Whitehouse on 01363 898108 or Eric Parkes on 01363 82878.

Lions President Peter Bryan said: “Having heard about the success of ROAR in other areas and the real benefits that can come from working in teams, generating ideas and eventually perhaps becoming eligible for a national award is quite amazing. I do hope that we can help our local children Roar away to success.”
