F YOU enjoy an evening out and the sound of country music – why not join the lively group which meet every Tuesday at 7.30pm in Newton St Cyres Parish Hall?

A very social group of like-minded people (of all ages and abilities) meet regularly to learn line dances from tutor, Paula Benford.

Paula, from Exwick, explained that Honky Tonks Line Dancing run the weekly class for beginners and improvers.

"It is fun, good exercise and not all 'Ye Ha' like a lot of people think," said Paula.

Paula has a son at Newton St Cyres Primary School and is involved with the pre-school and toddler group in the village.

One of those who enjoys the classes, Jill Baker, told the Courier: "Beginners are always welcome and Paula goes through all the stages of each dance very carefully so that no-one gets left behind.

"Please come and join us and be part of the fun that goes on each Tuesday evening."

No partner is required and you can wear what you like to the class which lasts for about an hour and 20 minutes.

The cost is £3.50 per session.
