MEL Stride (Crediton Courier, June 11) wrote: 'Extreme weather events are becoming more frequent and unpredictable.'
He continued: 'Some farms report their worst harvest ever. Climate volatility is no longer a future threat but a present reality that our farming community must navigate.'
Mel Stride obviously couldn't bring himself to say 'climate change', saying rather 'climate volatility'.
In 2019 he sat in Cabinet as Leader of the House of Commons when Theresa May's government strengthened The Climate Change Act.
He personally attended Cop 26 in Glasgow in 2021.
Shamefully, he and Kemi Badenoch's Tories now want to scrap The Climate Change Act. I wonder how Mel Stride thinks this is going to help the farmers in Mid Devon?
