I HAVE lived in Crediton since 1995 and am appalled at the notion of charges for parking on Crediton High Street (“Crediton Courier”, January 12).

Apart from the inconvenience to myself it would make it difficult accessing shops, the dentist, opticians etc for my 102 year-old, disabled mother.

Charges would be a disaster for locals, shopkeepers and visitors to our town.

One wonders who would benefit from the money made?
