I WOULD like to thank many people for their support and assistance with the organisation of the late night shopping evening held in Crediton on December 7.

The evening was well supported by shoppers and I would firstly like to thank them for supporting the town's shops and the local economy by shopping locally.

Next I would like to thank all the shopkeepers for opening for the evening - more than 30 in total.

Those who helped make the evening possible were: Dan Webb and Bruce Evans (for putting up the advertising banners), Carol Furze and Alan Quick (for taking the banners down) and the property owners who allowed us to display the banners.

Crediton Chamber of Commerce (for a donation towards the advertising banners), Will Whitely (for the PA system, microphone and Christmas music), Mid Devon District Council for allowing use of the town square, Crediton Town Council and the Mayor, Cllr Frank Letch.

Thanks also to Maz Totterdell and Father Christmas for their help during the evening.

Also to Graham Warwick and Jerry Williams for the printing and Sean Constable for the design work of flyers and banners and to the Crediton Courier.

Emma from Olivia James Design and Jill from Crediton Community Bookshop for their advice and support, Richard Huxtable for his help and The Green House.

Thanks also to those who provided entertainment, Crediton Town Band, The Saga Louts and Mellow D.

Thanks also to the children from Hayward's Primary School who created the Christmas tree decorations and their art teacher, Noreen Faulkner.

Thanks again to everyone who helped make the late night Christmas shopping evening such a success.
